The Best Time to Visit the Princes' Islands
Season by season — weather, crowds and what's open, plus the single best day and time to go.
The Princes' Islands are lovely year-round, but the experience changes a lot with the season. Here's when to go.
Spring & autumn — the sweet spot
April–June and September–October bring mild weather, green hills and thinner crowds. This is the ideal window.
Summer — beautiful but busy
July–August is warm and swimmable, but the islands are packed with locals and tourists, and the last ferries back are chaotic. Go early and midweek.
Winter — quiet and moody
November–March is peaceful and atmospheric, but many cafés and beach clubs close and ferries run less often. Great for a contemplative walk, less so for swimming.
The best day & time
Whatever the month: a weekday, on an early-morning ferry. You'll get the mansions and Aya Yorgi at their calmest. Full visit guide →
