The Princes' Islands are one long photo opportunity — but a few spots stand out for the view and the light. Here's where to point the camera, and where to catch the sunset.
The big view: Aya Yorgi
The panorama from Aya Yorgi at Büyükada's summit is the islands' signature shot — the whole archipelago, the Marmara and the city beyond. Best in clear afternoon light.
Sunset spots
For sunset, cross to Kalpazankaya on Burgazada — a rocky cove with a seaside restaurant, the archipelago's classic sunset perch. On Büyükada, Dil Burnu on the western tip catches the evening light over the sea.
Mansions & streets
For architecture, the Belle Époque mansion streets of Nizam on Büyükada — and the vast Prinkipo orphanage — are endlessly photogenic. And don't forget the ferry deck itself: the approach to the islands, and the city skyline on the way back, are among the best frames of the whole trip.
